The gold deposits of the Yapesa and Obuom and Konongo (the famous ancient rich goldfield giants) belts occur in the Birimian phyllites and greenstones on the northwest side of and in close proximity to the rocks of the Tarkwaian system near Konongo. The ores are practically along the contact between Birimian and the Tarkwaian rocks, while near Obuom they are about four miles northwest Obuasi (currently Ashanti Gold) and Prestea Goldfields.
Parallel to the main Obuam and Konongo reef channels is a fairly persistent band of manjaniferous rocks (gondite and low grade manganese ore), which has been traced from near Ntroako through Yapesa, NKwantapong, Pemenasi and Odumasi to Birisem hill, one mile east to Kyekyebiase towards Agogo in the Ashanti Akim District.
This project is expected to produce a mininmum of 600 to 1200 grams of gold per day. 70% of the mining work has been done. We have reached deep to the Rocks layer. We believe that the gold is deposited just below the rocks layer.Currently we are looking for a partner who is willing to support us with mining equipments. The project target is expected to be completed within 30 to 40 days after receiving mining equipments. |
